Rev. Ginger Luke, Minister Emerita

The Reverend Ginger Luke served at River Road from 1994 through June, 2013. Starting as full time Director of Religious Education at River Road Unitarian Church, Ginger helped shape and grow our religious education program and brought a connectedness of community to our children, youth and adults.  A graduate of Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago, she received her Masters of Divinity degree in 2001 and River Road Unitarian Church voted to ordain her on June 9, 2002.

Rev. Luke has been a mentor to many religious educators throughout her career; the author of an essay in Essex Conversations: Visions for Lifespan Religious Education; an active participant in the Unitarian Universalist Association on the district and continental level; the recipient of the Roberta Nelson Award for her contributions to religious education while at Meadville/Lombard; and the recipient of the Meadville Lombard Theological School 2013 Alumni/ae Service Award for her exemplary service to the school. Ginger also received the Skinner Sermon Award "to the preacher of the sermon best expressing Unitarian Universalism's social principles for her sermon "Why No Living Wage?" in 2000.

Ginger retired from RRUUC as Minister of Religious Education and Congregational Life to travel, spend time with her grandchildren and family, and seek new adventures.
