Sophia Maravelle returned to the family farm to run Brickyard Educational Farm in Potomac, MD.

Come hear the amazing story about how this now threatened 20-acre farm in a Potomac neighborhood is a place where school children learn to feel the same connection to the land that Sophia Maravell knew growing up on the family farm.  Just as important as teaching the community  about composting and worms is passing on a sincere connection to the land that comes out of a deep respect, understanding, love, appreciationand reverence for the land.

Sophia Maravell returned home after college to the family farm, Nick's Organic Farm in Potomac, to help preserve the soil not only for growing organic produce and saving heirloom seeds, but as a center for agricultural education in rapidly urbanizing Montgomery County and the nearby suburbs of Washington DC.
